Happy Apple day! Several products from Apple have been refreshed today, including OS X. Mac OS X Lion is now available from the Mac App Store for $29.99. The new MacBook Airs are now in, following a large amount of speculation and anticipation. The Airs are staying with the same, beautiful design. However, Apple claims that they are now 2.5x faster. The 11-inch packs a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor and the 13-inch carries a 1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. Furthermore, Thunderbolt is now packed into Air. Some models have also received backlit keyboards. The prices are still the same: 64GB for $999, 128GB 11-inch for $1,199, 128GB 13-inch for $1,299, and 256GB for $1,599. The Mac Minis have also received an upgrade. With a 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor or 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, the new Mac Minis have Thunderbolt and an upgraded graphics processor on the 2.3GHz model. They do, however, loose the super optical drive. Pricing is also the same: 2.3GHz model for $599 and 2.5GHz model for $799. The Cinema displays are now gone. Instead, Apple’s displays are now called Thunderbolt Displays. They are basically cinema displays with Thunderbolt. They also have Facetime HD built-in. Same price, again: 27-inch for $999. All of these new Apple goodies are available right now and the computers all ship with Lion.
